401 Error Troubleshooting

Repeated 401 Errors

Repeated 401 errors mean that the SIP registration has reached the VOIP server, but the VoIP provider needs authentication to proceed. Bria then usually replies with the required information, and registers. Getting this repeatedly means that something about the authentication information Bria is supplying (the SIP username/password) is being rejected by the VoIP provider.

We recommend contacting your VOIP service provider and confirming your SIP account information, particularly if they require an Authorization name. They should be able to confirm why you're getting that response from their server.

Then, update the Bria settings in the web portal to the correct information before trying to register again.

Remember that once you make a change in the online dashboard you must log out of Bria apps and log back in for it to get the new settings.
