CounterPath has recently launched a new public-facing status page that ties into the same monitoring services our Operations team uses internally. We are excited to share details on how we conduct this monitoring, and what information you can expect to see on this status page.
Note that this status page is ONLY for Hosted Stretto services, for status of Bria Teams and Bria Solo services, please see our Bria service status at http://status.softphone.com/
Hosted Stretto Services
This section includes services that all Hosted Stretto customers, both those using Bria Enterprise clients and white-label solutions, may use. These include CounterPath's Push Notification Service, Messaging Service, and others.
For the status of the Administration Portal, Video Meetings, Client Provisioning, Client Traces, and User Experience Metrics services we look to a status page that is generated by Stretto for each service when it is operating normally. If an individual service's status page becomes unreachable, or the status page does not contain the expected response of "All seems well", then that service is considered down. Our monitors run this check once every minute, and will consider a service down if a response is not received after 2 checks. This is to prevent false-positives.
The API service uses a similar check to a Stretto-generated status page, but will consider itself down if a response is not received within a 4 second window. This allows us to monitor for slow response times in addition to full outages.
The Messaging service currently monitors the port this service accepts traffic over. The service may be able to accept traffic without processing it, and at times it may not reflect service degradation. We plan to improve this monitor to better reflect this in the future.
Other Services
In addition to Hosted Stretto services we monitor other services that CounterPath provides. We monitor whether the CounterPath Partner Portal is available through a health check to its login page, and whether administrator actions taken on the Partner Portal are able to be fulfilled by the Hosted Stretto server. Additionally we monitor whether the Technical Assistance Center is available through a health check to its login page.
Consolidated Push Services
Push services are considered up if any individual Push server is able to respond to traffic requests. An outage in any one region is not expected to halt service to users, even if users were previously using a region that is down.
We monitor each individual Push region with health checks conducted from inside and outside that region. If a region is unable to receive traffic, clients will be redirected to the next-closest available region.
