A new update to the Push Service is currently on the Staging Push system and will be rolled out to the Production environment starting on Monday Sept. 27th, 2021. The key change that will be applied is in the SIP User Agent string, with the removal of the “CounterPath Bria” reference. Customers that restrict SIP registrations based on the User Agent string must update their list to allow the new Push Server name format. |
Description & TimelineAn update to the Push Service and User Agent string is scheduled to start on Monday, September 27th, 2021. Going forward the SIP User Agent string will be displayed as “Push Server” instead of the current “CounterPath Bria Push Server” along with version and build number, for example Push Server 3.1.0 (23616). This should better suit our Branded customers in their usage of the Push Notification solution where network traffic brand parameters are of concern. We urge customers to test against our Staging system and inform us of any concerns with this change prior to our scheduled rollout to Production. |
Impact StatementNo downtime is anticipated for this upgrade. Staging TestingCustomers that have not yet tested, are recommended to test against our Staging system to ensure their service and mobile brand client versions are working optimally under the latest set of updates.
