BRIA 5 for Windows bad Performance in audio, if another program works

Hi everybody.

I use BRIA 5 for Windows 10 with a Sennheiser DW-PRO 2 on my new Alienware.

The performance of the Notebook should be powerful enough, however, if I am on the phone (connected to the Computer with USB) and I will open a Website or a program (Acrbat,...) the Audio starts to scratch in the Speaker and BRIA works very badly until the second program has finished.

Is there any solution for that Problem?

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards, PSA

Hello PSA,

1. Are you using a headset with Bria? If yes, what model of the headset?

2. Try to record a Bria call and listen to the recording. let me know if the audio is bad in recording or not.

Cheers,

Harpreet

Are you also using Sennheiser software? Please install it.

Check if you have any audio/video driver updates pending to be installed.

I'm not really sure what you mean by couldn't handle recording the call?

Hi again,

yes I use Sennheiser Headsetup Software. All Audio/Video updates are installed.

I didn´t know how to record a call with Bria. I was looking for a button or something like that to record a call but couldn´t find it..

It´s funny...as Long as I doesn´t use another Software or I doesn´t use Internet Explorer, Bria works fine. No Scratching noises or interruption during a call. But as soon as I do some work during a call, the Audio Signal from the caller Comes with interruptions and Scratchings.

Everything on the Computer is up to date, so I still have no idea what to do...

Thanks for your replay.

Regards, PSA

To record a call, you can click on the three horizontal dots on the left of call end button and select "Start call recording". Then listen to the recording after the call.

Can you please try to create a new WIndows user account and install Bria there? And install a couple of other software. Now try a call there to see if it happens only on the current user account or on the new one as well.

If it still keeps happening then check in the task manager if the CPU usage of Bria or the apps you're using along with, go high or not.

Also, what exact version of Windows 10 are you using?

Hi again,

I spent some hours in Try&Error at the Weekend:

The recorded call was okay,

The biggest Audio Problems come along by making a phone call and using Adobe Creeative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, ...). A new created Windows user had no positive effect on the Problem.

Task Manager RAM goes up to 176 MB while calling...seems to be okay for me.

Are you the only user or do you have many other users using Bria? If there are many users, are they all having this issue or is it specific to your system?

I believe, the only thing we can try here is to uninstall and reinstall both Bria and Adobe Creative suite to see if it resolves the issue.

I'd like you to perform a full reinstall for me, please. Please ensure that you have all your account settings and preferences noted because you will need to re-enter this information. Taking screenshots may be helpful in this respect. You can also make backups of the folders below, in case the full reinstall does not solve the problem. In that case, you can overwrite the new folders with your backup. Now, please uninstall Bria, then delete the following folders:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CounterPath\

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CounterPath\

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CounterPath Corporation\

(Where USERNAME is the name of your user account in Windows. AppData is hidden, so you may need to turn on "view hidden items" in order to see it)

Once you have performed the full uninstall, reinstall Bria again and re-enter your settings/preferences.

Let me know how this works for you.
