Bria 5 with Yeastar GSM Gateway

Greetings,

We have purchased a couple of licenses of Bria 5 for us to test as softphones for our PC. It is hooked up through a Yeastar TG800 GSM Gateway like the one found on this link: http://www.yeastar.com/voip-gsm-gateway-tg800/.

We can make and receive calls but it seems that SMS so far is a no go. Yeastar has an app called MySMS which can be accessed via browser through a program called MySMS Center installed in a Windows virtual machine. http://www.yeastar.com/sms-service-solutions/

We however prefer to use Bria 5 as our SMS messaging device. Is it possible to connect through Yeastar TG800? I'm wondering why we can make calls but not texts.

Thanks

Ooops. Let me make a correction. It should be, "Bria as our SMS messaging client" instead of device. The TG800 is our SMS Gateway.

Hello Heretic,

Unfortunately, SMS is not supported on Bria 5 (I hope you're talking SMS and not Instant Messaging, just clarifying not to confuse both up). We do have Bria mobile clients that support SMS functionality which you may be interested in if SMS is one of the major requirements in an app for you. Please let me know.

Cheers,

Hi,

SMS/mobile texting is indeed a major requirement for us. This is the setup basically: Group A is composed of 6 customer service personnel each assigned with a dual-sim phone. Calls and texts are done on the phone. Group B is composed of 8 CSP each assigned to one sim/mobile number. The sim cards are installed in a Yeastar TG800 GSM Gateway. Calls and texts are done in the PC/Workstations assigned to them through Yeastar's app. However, the interface is clunky and becomes a single point of failure during power outages. GSM Gateways are also quite expensive in my country. SMS can also arrive delayed at times.

We would like a solution that can enable everyone to make calls and texts in their PC. The style that I can think of is similar to that of the Nokia PC Suite where you can just plug in the phone to the PC and make your calls, texts and backup SMS as well on the PC. However we would like it to be able to communicate with our PBX.

If you have other suggestions, feel free to message me.

Thanks

Hello Heretic,

As mentioned, SMS functionality is only available on the mobile clients but we create custom builds as well and may be able to avail it on desktop clients. We only develop a custom build for >=200 licenses. If you meet this number, then I can further check if it is possible.
