Bria + Apple CarPlay problem

Solved

Hello, I found a bug about CarPlay.

See video please.

I own a Chevrolet Malibu vehicle, iPhone 6s running iOS 10.3.1, Bria 3.9.2

I plugged my iPhone using original cable, every 2min 30sec, my car audio's input source changes.

First, I choose radio FM, wait few time, car audio's input source changes to ipod (see video)

this happens every 2m 30s interval. I select FM and after 2m30s, car audio's input source changes again.

when I kill Bria background, no input changes happen.

I think Bria sends some information to car audio, and car audio changes its input?? I dont know exactly.

check this problem, and fix please.

Hello Chul,

May I please know if you're using the 2016-2017 version of Malibu?

Hello Chul,

Please follow the link below to learn more about how to use Bria with Car Play. We are supposed to use the audio source from the iOS device. If we use the audio source directly from the car the audio would likely be muted (as in your case you're using FM). Let me know if using the audio source from the device gives the same problem.

I already read the article, and what is your point?

is it normal phenomenon?

i connect my iphone to the car for various reasons, such as listen to music, phone call and recharging iphone battery.

I want recharge and listen FM radio at the same time. what should i do??

I know very well about bria using carplay audio source, but my point is bria should not change car audio's input source arbitrarily.

I had a chat with engineering to further follow-up on this issue. Though the behavior of audio source changing is not ideal but this situation can/may happen, as it is happening to you but may depend on car as well. Our testing previously found that if the audio was played using CarPlay device itself then it would not get interrupted but it would if the audio source of the car is used. So, the bottom line, at the moment, is that there is no workaround to this situation.

Using iOS FM radio app is the only likely way to listen to music and use Bria as well. We have introduced a new feature called "Background support mechanism" (in v3.9.3) which may result in a different behavior, as per our engineers saying. We are going to do some more testing with newer Bria 3.9.3 and iOS 10.3 release so I would update you most likely by next week about our findings.

That sounds good, Chul. I was about to update you regarding the same as our engineers did tests in a similar environment and found the issue was resolved with background support option and so it did for you. I will go ahead and close the ticket now. You can create a new ticket for any other issue.
