I would like to know when will Bria for iPhone be able to work with Siri so I can ask Siri to dial outgoing calls or perform other tasks while driving my car.
I'm sorry, but at this time it is not possible to order Siri to make a call using Bria, and there are no immediate plans to implement this. However, I am changing this topic to an Idea, which is the best way to request changes from the developers. If there is support for the idea among other users, it may be something we look to implement in the future.
Thank you Brian for the feedback.
I am surprised to ear that your are not even working on it.
iOS 10 brings 2 major improvement for you to make your product much better: Voicekit and Sirikit.
Other threads on the topic of voicekit shows that you have not be able to integrate voicekit to your product yet.
This thread shows that you are not working on Siri integration yet.
Considering the beta version of iOS 10 came out in June, it is disappointing to see that you have not made progress on iOS 10 and using the new opportunities to make your product better.
Bria has been a good product thus far but without integrating iOS10 new features, other products will become a lot more attractive very quickly.
I hope you address this situation in a timely manner.
I have good news! Barely an hour after I answered your post, I found out that the iOS development team has begun working with these iOS 10 features, including Sirikit. I don't have any more specific information at this time, however I thought you'd be pleased to know it's now something they are working on.
Hopefully they will integrate these new features soon in Bria for iPhone.
Do you have an update on when Siri kit will be integrated with Bria? Is a Meta coming soon?
I know that the mobile development team is currently testing CallKit, although I don't believe there is anything immediate for SiriKit. That doesn't mean it won't happen, just that they aren't testing with it yet.
Does Bria now support calling via Siri commands. I updated to 3.8.1 and noticed now under the Hey Siri I can enable Bria. however i tried to call and it doesn't seem to recognize Call John Smith using Bria or similar. Is this available? If not anyway to beta test this?
It works!!!! Ok so I was saying call using bree - aaah but siri wouldn't recognize. But when I say call blah using Bri as in Brian and Ah it works. So happy!!
siri kit please!
and i have been pronouncing bria as in BRI in bring and A in Arnold with the stress on the "i". is it wrong? apparently siri thinks so...
When a contact has a Mobile and a Home number, it would be great if i could tell Siri "Call Maria on her Mobile phone via Bria" and do it. just like on the native app. Now i need to tell her "call maria via Bria" and then pick my phone up and select Mobile.
We pronounce Bria with a long E, as in "BREE-uh." This is the kind of thing that engineering might not have planned for, but they're working on fixing it. Much of the CallKit integration is a work in progress, so I don't have any official updates, but I can tell you it's something the development team is working with.
And as an aside, "Call Maria via Bria" is a very pleasant sentence.
1) When pronouncing Bree-uh with Siri, it does not work. One as to say Bri-ya to make it work with Siri.
2) When asking Siri ''Call John Smith mobile" Siri still ask you which number to call: mobile, work, home, ...
Both these issues must be fixed.
Thanks for passing them along to the development team as they make using Bria in the car a bit laborious.
I'm using Bria for iPad with the new Native Integration option enabled. I have "Custom ringtone" turned off, and incoming calls ring with the ringtone I have set in the iOS Settings app as expected. However, I have set up a few contacts with different ringtones in the Contacts app, but the one configured in the Settings app seems to override it when the call comes in. Is there a way to make this work? Or is it a limitation of CallKit?
SiriKit integration in Bria is problematic. Are you aware? Is it going to be fixed any time soon?
Nothing since a year ago... has this feature been finished yet? If so what's the expected Siri command?
I'm reluctant to just try again, as the last time I tried it repeatedly dialled 911 on me instead. The first time in my panic I hit the wrong button on the confirmation which sent the call through. Hung up quickly but got a call back from them! Oy! I was trying to give it a phone number rather than a contact name, though.
