Samsung Galaxy S8 does not use the "Contact Display Order" because it always recommends "Last Name First". The Android "contact settings" does not take into account.
What version of Bria are you using?
Can you please further explain your situation? Are you trying to set the Contact display order in a specific manner which Bria is not setting it to?

Yes, Bria has a phone book problem. According to this manual, you must set up the Android Phone Book to list it first or last name. This setting is followed by BRIA. Also, did you try to change the order in Bria's Preferences? That should work. You have to likely close Bria and open again for the changes to go through.
The Bria help tells you exactly how to set up the phone book. The first name and last names can not be set in the Bria preference. This is also written in the help. Check it out and try it.
Did you already try going to Preferences and check if you can change contact display order? I noticed you mentioned previously "Contact Display Order" always recommends "Last Name First". Did you select "first name first"? I tried changing the contacts order in Bria itself and I was able to.
I do not understand that. I never knew in Preferences to set "Last Name First". I tried to do it with Samsung S5 and Samsung S8. It can not even be assigned. As I wrote in Help, it is exactly how to set up the Contact Display Order

Preferences. Change the display preference of Bria's contacts.
First Name First: Displays a contact name as John Smith.
Last Name First: Displays a contact name as Smith, John.
Contact Display Order becomes available/changeable when Bria cannot access the preferences on the Android OS. If this setting is read-only in Bria, go to the OS settings (such as the Contacts app) to change the display preference. In this case, Bria uses the display preference defined in the OS".
This is my biggest problem with Samsung S8 not working !!!
Can you please send me a screenshot of the Preferences Contact Display Order option (after you open the option). What options do you get and are they changeable? It might be phone dependent that the settings working may vary. I have also read that note in Help so I'm trying to figure out what exactly is happening.
So the point of this feature of Bria is not working with the Samsung Galaxy s8.
This is not just my problem, I met other people as well. Please correct the software as a matter of urgency because it can not be used.
Alright, thanks for the screenshot and info. I will check/test internally and let you know. Since my phone has that feature active and I can switch between last name first and first name first so need to further check.
I'd like you to please send me a log report to further diagnose this issue. Please follow the steps below:
Go to Bria's Settings > Advanced Settings. Scroll down to Application Logging. Verbose Logging should be turned ON.
Reproduce the problem (since Bria preferences settings are not active so you can just try to change the native android contact display settings).
Go to Settings > Advanced Settings and scroll down to Application Logging. Tap Send Log. Once the logfile has been uploaded, you will see a Sending Log Success notification that has a Reference #.

If sending the file fails, check your Wi-Fi and/or cellular data connectivity.
